Harry Potter and Twilight fans have their versions of fan fiction that provide fans a release for their own creativity and imagination usually in the form of short literature works posted on online forums.
My guilty pleasure however is neither Harry Potter nor Twilight but World of Warcraft and I love the music video creations that have been spawned out of the MMO.
So here are my top 7 picks! Why 7? Because I could not settle on 5!
(If you are an avid fan, yes some of the choices are somewhat old but they are still classics!)
*WARNING* Songs may be very catchy :) Songs are not listed in order of preference
1. Ulduar Vocals by Summergale and Cranius and produced by Legs All individuals are very talented and have many other great works, WoW inspired and otherwise.
2. Ni Hao Vocals by Summergale and Nyhm and produced by Madcowstudios. It was very hard for me to choose my favourite from Nyhm close runner-ups were, Hard Like Heroic and Pretty Fly (for a Draenei)
3. Do You Wanna Date My Avatar presented by The Guild. If you have not caught the online series The Guild I highly recommend it, while not focusing on WoW specifically it focuses on the hilarious antics of MMO players. Season 4 will premier July 13.
4. ROFLMAO by Oxhorn
5. Horde For Life vocals by Yarcinea, Gigi and the Druidboyz; Zharkan, Abandonation, and Demineon
6. That's the World of Warcraft That You Play vocals by Ian Beckman
7. The Craft of War: BLIND produced by Percula
Hahaha I love how your favourites are so Horde-centric. When I was looking through the playlists for these videos, I really didn't see many Alliance videos. I wonder why that is. Maybe more skilled/mature players are drawn to Horde for the storyline, while newer players are drawn to the Alliance side because they see it as the "good guys".
ReplyDeleteThat is the reason I rolled Alliance for my first character (that, and I wanted to be a druid and I thought the Tauren cat forms were hideous). I played Alliance for almost an entire year. Now that I've almost leveled my Tauren Shaman to 80, I can say with the utmost certainty that Horde is indeed the better side. They definitely have more interesting stories and quests, and - while there are idiots/trolls no matter which faction or server you choose - there seem to be far fewer than on my Alliance server. Also Horde has way cooler races, and after learning a bit more about the histories of some of the races, it turns out that the Alliance may not be the "good guys" after all.
Maybe someone with an in-depth knowledge of WoW lore (hint hint) could write a really interesting blog post about it! :D
Anyway, back to actually commenting on this post. Those songs were all really good - and damn catchy - but I especially liked the ROFLMAO one! Good picks!
hehehe thanks Erika! As for the alliance based songs, there really aren't a lot out there, good or bad. I know Nyhm has rerolled from a BE to an alli and produced one or two pieces but not near as catchy.
ReplyDeleteI also played an Alliance, for nearly three years, and I chose them because I thought they were the more "girly" or "good" side as well. Now after re-rolling Horde I still feel "girly" (probably a lot to do with rolling a BE lol) but it does feel like the mature side. At least, in my opinion, there is a lot less QQ more Pew Pew :P
I will be posting a blog shortly with a lore theme, once I finish reading Stormrage by Richard A. Knaak, which will be a bit of a review and pieces of lore mixed in :D
I eagerly await that post!
